Katherine Clayton

PhD Student

Katie is a PhD candidate in Political Science at Stanford. She received her B.A. in Government and French from Dartmouth College in 2018, and worked as a research fellow for Bright Line Watch before starting her PhD. Katie studies political behavior and public opinion, with an emphasis on democratic norms, partisan conflict, and identity politics. Her dissertation project examines the dynamics and consequences of intraparty conflict in the United States. In her spare time, Katie is a triathlete and coach at the Endurance Drive, and she enjoys swimming, biking, running, and miscellaneous outdoor adventures.
