PhD Student
Luiza is a PhD student working at the Stanford Social Neuroscience Lab. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Swarthmore College in 2017. After graduation, she worked as a behavioral research fellow at the Kellogg School of Management before joining Stanford’s PhD Psychology program. Luiza is interested in the psychological mechanisms underlying political polarization and intergroup conflict. Her research centers on how group membership can influence people’s moral convictions and enable empathic failures toward dissimilar others. In her free time, she can be found riding horses, chasing her dog at dog parks, and singing badly while driving.
